Heatwave continues across the country, rain with strong winds and thunder expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning today about the continuation of hot and dry conditions in most parts of the country, while the heat and humidity levels will increase in the plains.

Despite the current heatwave, rain with strong winds and thunder is forecasted in the evening and night in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeastern Balochistan.

This morning’s temperatures reflect the current weather conditions, with Islamabad recording a maximum temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, Lahore and Peshawar 32, Karachi 29, Quetta 25, Gilgit 17, Murree 19, and Muzaffarabad 23 degrees Celsius.

In India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cities like Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla are likely to experience strong winds and thunder with partly cloudy skies.

The region’s recorded temperatures this morning include Srinagar at 22 degrees Celsius, Jammu 28, Leh 7, Pulwama 19, Anantnag and Shopian 18, while Baramulla recorded 17 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, caution is advised during the ongoing hot and dry conditions in the country, while some relief in the form of rain and thunder can be expected in only selected areas.
