Meeting on overall law and order situation in Khairpur, consideration of future course of action

A comprehensive review meeting of the District Peace Committee was held today in Khairpur, emphasizing the importance of maintaining harmony and discipline, especially during the month of Muharram. This meeting was held under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Altaf Ahmed Chandio and Senior Superintendent of Police Amir Saud Magasi in the Sachal Sarmast Darbar Hall at the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

The efforts to ensure a peaceful environment during Muharram were appreciated. This tranquility was attributed to the joint efforts of the police force, district administration, peace committee, and community leaders. Regular interaction between these groups was deemed essential to resolve minor issues before they escalate.

Officials urged political, religious, and social organizations to invest in the positive upbringing of youth, advocating tolerance and harmony. The misuse of social media platforms for spreading religious differences was also discussed, and strict legal actions against culprits were directed.

The meeting included plans to reorganize the District Peace Committee for more effectiveness and structural strengthening. Deputy Commissioner Chandio requested written proposals within two weeks on various aspects, including membership duration, establishment of sub-committees at the taluka level, and necessary amendments to the code of conduct.

The discussions reiterated their unwavering commitment to promoting lasting peace, religious unity, and the rule of law in the district. Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdul Hakeem Dehrio, Peace Committee Chairman Zubair Ahmed Phulpoto, and other key officials from various departments attended the meeting.
