As part of its ongoing anti-corruption awareness campaign, NAB (Balochistan) organized a seminar on “Functions of NAB and the Role of Students in the Eradication of Corruption” at Islamia Boys College, Quetta. The primary objective of the seminar was to raise awareness among the youth about the detrimental effects of corruption and to promote collective efforts to build a corruption-free society.
Farhan Yousaf Khan, Deputy Director, NAB (Balochistan), engaged with students and faculty members, discussing NAB’s vision, mission, and the significant role students can play in eradicating the menace of corruption. He delivered a formal lecture and emphasized that students should adopt high moral standards so that abhorrence of corruption becomes an integral part of their personalities.
He also said that the teachings of Islam advocate self-accountability and do not permit even an iota of dishonesty or corruption. He added that nepotism, influence peddling, bribery, extortion, and favouritism are all forms of corruption but, unfortunately, have become accepted as norms in society. He stressed that the collective efforts of students, as vital members of society, could play a pivotal role in laying the foundation for a corruption-free society.
On the occasion, Joint Director Colleges Syeda Niaz and Principal of the College, Mr. Abdul Rasheed Khan Alizai, also shared their views against corruption. They appreciated the efforts of NAB Balochistan in combating corruption and assured the organization of their full cooperation in its anti-corruption awareness campaign. The seminar concluded with the presentation of a shield to the Principal by the Deputy Director of NAB, followed by a mutual expression of gratitude and a vote of thanks from both sides.
At the end of the seminar, an awareness walk was also organized in which the participants, including NAB officers, the Additional Director Colleges, the Principal, professors, and a large number of students, took part.
