Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi highlighted the crucial role of educated women in national development during an inspiring address at the convocation of Jinnah University for Women today. He emphasized that women, who have been given an honorable status in Islam, are essential for the pride and progress of the nation.

Throughout history, influential women have shaped both Islamic and Pakistani narratives. From Fatima Jinnah to Maryam Nawaz, these personalities are symbols of national identity and honor. Governor Hashmi praised the university’s leadership for its remarkable educational achievements and encouraged the graduating students to confidently contribute to the country’s development.

He paid tribute to the late Riaz Ahmed, a visionary who obtained approval for the institution’s name from Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and emphasized the responsibility of the graduates to play a positive role in social change.

Governor Hashmi expressed respect for the mothers who train future leaders and advised students to honor their teachers, serve their parents, and elevate Pakistan’s global reputation. He acknowledged the role of the Pakistan Army in regional peace and praised the efforts of national leaders to improve Pakistan’s global standing.

The ceremony concluded with Governor Hashmi awarding prizes to exemplary students. The university’s chancellor earlier highlighted its educational achievements and future aspirations.
