Pakistan and Trkiye have agreed to deepen cooperation in the maritime and transport sectors, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening economic connectivity, expanding infrastructure collaboration, and promoting sustainable growth.
The understanding was reached during a meeting in Istanbul between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and Trkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu, according to an official report today.
During the talks, the two ministers reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation and discussed measures to broaden collaboration in maritime affairs, transport infrastructure, and logistics. They stressed the importance of closer coordination to reinforce economic relations between the two countries.
The ministers agreed to enhance cooperation in the development of modern maritime infrastructure and transport systems, saying such initiatives would facilitate trade, improve regional connectivity, and support long-term economic growth.
They also exchanged views on opportunities for sustainable development and explored avenues to encourage mutual investment in the maritime and transport sectors. Both sides expressed confidence that stronger collaboration would further consolidate the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Trkiye while contributing to regional prosperity.
The two countries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation across strategic sectors and strengthening bilateral economic and commercial ties.
