The 27th martyrdom anniversary of Kargil War hero Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed was observed

The nation today solemnly observed the 27th anniversary of Kargil War hero, Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, who was posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military honor.

Quran recitations and prayers are being held in mosques across the country, reflecting deep respect and love for his sacrifice.

President Asif Ali Zardari praised the bravery of Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, stating that the sacrifices of martyrs ensure a strong and honorable future for Pakistan. He declared the great traditions of martyrs as an essential part of the country’s identity and vowed that their sacrifices will always remain alive in the hearts of the nation.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also expressed deep reverence for Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, praising his bravery and great sacrifice during the Kargil War. Despite severe injuries, his steadfast resistance against enemies is an example of unparalleled patriotism, which is a source of pride for Pakistan.

The Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, along with Pakistan’s armed forces, paid tribute to this fallen hero. They praised his extraordinary bravery and unwavering commitment to the nation’s defense during the decisive war of 1999.
