In three police encounters today in Karachi, five suspected robbers were arrested, raising concerns about the increasing crime rate in the city.
In a confrontation along the river in Rehmanabad Block 5, a suspect was arrested, identified as Bilal alias Billy son of Ghaffar. After an exchange of gunfire, Bilal was arrested in an injured state, and a pistol and bullets were recovered from him. The injured suspect has been shifted to the hospital for treatment, and police investigations are ongoing. This incident falls under the jurisdiction of Gulberg Police Station in the Central District.
Meanwhile, a separate incident occurred near McDonald’s on Sea View Road, Phase 5, where police engaged with suspected robbers. After an exchange of gunfire, two individuals were detained in an injured state. The suspects were identified as Rehmat alias Sheena son of Ameerullah and Saeed Rehman alias Saeedo son of Zareen, from whom two pistols, bullets, and a motorcycle were recovered. They have been shifted to the hospital, and further investigation is underway. This incident is under the supervision of Darakhshan Police Station in the Southern District.
In another incident, in Jahangirabad, Nazimabad No. 1, police encountered robbers by the river, resulting in the arrest of two more suspects. After an exchange of gunfire, Saeed Rehman son of Hameedullah and Luqman Shah son of Qeemat Shah were caught in an injured state. Authorities recovered a pistol, bullets, mobile phones, and a motorcycle from them. This case is under investigation by Rizvia Society Police Station in the Central District, and investigations are ongoing.
