Debate on Artificial Intelligence co-hosted by the Permanent Missions of Pakistan and Tajikistan and the Prime Minister’s Youth Program at the United Nations Headquarters

A debate on artificial intelligence was held today at the United Nations Headquarters, co-hosted by the Permanent Missions of Pakistan and Tajikistan and the Prime Minister’s Youth Program

Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, highlighted the efforts of the Government of Pakistan to include artificial intelligence in the national development agenda while delivering a keynote speech. The government has allocated 40.58 billion rupees for this initiative, aiming to align it with the increasing demands of a youth-driven economy.

Tajikistan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Abdulrahman Abdulrahmanzadeh, also participated in the discussion, emphasizing the need for international cooperation to achieve sustainable development. He stressed the importance of equal access, enhanced capabilities, and bridging the digital divide.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Azeem Iftikhar Ahmad, called for strong global partnerships. He highlighted the importance of making the benefits universally accessible, urging their use to promote inclusivity and support the sustainable development goals.
