Okara police today killed a robber after a fierce exchange of fire with robbers, while his two accomplices managed to escape.
The deceased suspect was identified as Abbas alias Abbasi, a notorious figure wanted by law enforcement agencies in multiple districts. Abbasi faced more than 80 serious charges, including three murder cases during robberies, involvement in police encounters, and involvement in gang rapes.
Authorities reported that Abbasi was allegedly fatally hit by bullets fired by his own accomplices. Law enforcement officials recovered weapons from the scene, further strengthening the ongoing investigation.
A vigorous search operation is underway by the police as an attempt to arrest the fleeing suspects. A formal case has been registered at the CCD police station against the fugitives, including charges of murder and engagement in a police encounter.
The body of the deceased has been moved to the district hospital to provide further information to aid the investigation.
