A forecast of hot and dry weather in most parts of the country, rain with thunder expected at some places in Kashmir, Potohar

The nation is bracing for hot and dry conditions, as the Meteorological Department today predicted continued heat in most areas. Intense temperatures are particularly expected in the central and southern plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan.

In contrast, there is hope for relief for some areas. Rain with thunder is likely in Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, and the Potohar region during the evening and night.

The morning temperature readings from major cities today highlighted the intensity of the heat. The capital, Islamabad, started the day at 21 degrees Celsius, while Lahore and Karachi recorded higher temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius respectively. Peshawar noted 22 degrees Celsius, Quetta a cool 18 degrees Celsius, Gilgit 13 degrees Celsius, Murree 15 degrees Celsius, and Muzaffarabad 19 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather forecast, these intensely hot conditions are likely to persist, and residents of the affected areas have been urged to take necessary precautions against the heat. Meanwhile, the possibility of evening rain in specific areas has provided a brief respite from the ongoing heatwave.
