The acquittal of three accused individuals involved in the brutal murder of a police officer in Khairpur has been formally challenged in the Sindh High Court today.
The case pertains to the murder of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Bilawal Wassan, six years ago. The officer was shot dead by unidentified assailants, and his body was then set on fire inside a double-cabin vehicle in Khairpur.
The court of the Second Additional District and Sessions Judge, Khairpur, acquitted the three accused, Zahid Hussain Rajput, Sarfaraz Rajput, and Saqlain Shah, of their alleged involvement in the crime.
In response to the lower court’s decision, the heirs of the deceased ASI, through their legal counsel, have filed an appeal in the Sukkur Bench of the Sindh High Court to challenge the verdict.
