ACs launch inspection of filling stations to check oil prices

KARACHI: On the directives of Deputy Commissioner South Irshad Ali Sodar, the inspection of filling stations in South district has been launched on Thursday.

 

During the inspection in Garden Sub division, Assistant Commissioner issued notices to two filling stations for giving less quantity of petrol to the citizens while the prices of petrol at various filling stations in the southern district had also been checked and it was found that the price fixed by the government was being implemented in the entire district.

 

The Assistant Commissioner Garden, Dr Mohsin said that initially notices had been given to two filling stations for violating the weight and measurement rules. Further action and prosecution process would be initiated after examining the reply on the notices.

 

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Saddar Shirina Asad also inspected the filling station in Sub Division Saddar and on the occasion, he said that on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner South Irshad Ali Sodhar, an inspection campaign of filling stations had been launched to prevent fraud with citizens.

 

DC South Irshad Ali Sodhar has directed all the Assistant Commissioners to send reports to him on daily basis and ensure implementation of petrol prices at filling stations and especially eliminate fraud in measurement.

 

He instructed that no one should be allowed to sell Iranian petrol in the district. Seal the filling station if anyone found involved in this illegal activity and FIRs should be registered against the owners, the deputy commissioner added.

 

He said that strict action should be taken against illegal petrol pumps and licenses / NOCs should be checked. He said that documentation of all petrol pumps in the district should also be completed.
