LARKANA: After the completion of the four-year term of Professor Dr. Anila Atta-ur-Rehman, a notification was issued by the Universities and Boards Department under the order of the Sindh Chief Minister, after which Professor Dr. Hakim Ali Abro took over the charge as acting Vice-Chancellor of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University (SMBBMU), Larkana on Thursday. After assuming charge, he was felicitated and welcomed by the faculty, officers and employees with flowers.
On that occasion, the acting Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Hakim Ali Abaro said that my doors are always open for everyone, I schedule meetings on a daily basis and solve legitimate problems on the first priority concerning teachers, officials, employees, and students. He said that I am who I am because of Chandka Medical College and University, Chandka is my academic mother, so now is the time to pay the debt of our institution.
An introductory meeting with the core committee has also been arranged by acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Abro on Friday at the main Areeja Campus of the university, in which a plan of action will be drawn up for the better future of the university. It must be mentioned here that Prof. Abro had raised an objection over recent appointments in high grades in the University and had termed it violation of the rules. People hope that the same will be reviewed by him now.
