Actions against the land mafia by the Forest Department in Ghotki are ongoing today under court orders. 50 acres of land have been cleared from the Jarwar forest and plantation has been initiated.
This action was taken under the guidance of the High Courts and the District and Session Judge, who is also the head of the Forest Committee, led by Divisional Forest Officer Ziaullah Laghari and Range Forest Officer Asad Ali Sheikh.
The team effectively removed illegal settlements, including cultivated crops, fences, and temporary homes, from these lands. Now, the retrieved area is planned to be revived with Acacia and other environmentally friendly trees.
DFO Ziaullah Laghari expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the district administration and police in enforcing the court orders. He issued a stern warning to those illegally occupying forest land, emphasizing that violators will face legal consequences regardless of their influence to ensure the protection of these lands.
Furthermore, an additional 10 acres of land have been retrieved from the land mafia, strengthening the department’s commitment to safeguarding Ghotki’s forest resources.
