Education authorities in Lahore have launched a citywide enforcement campaign against unregistered private schools, issuing legal notices to hundreds of institutions operating without official approval.
The District Education Authority (DEA) said notices had been served to 744 unregistered schools across the provincial capital as part of efforts to ensure compliance with education regulations, according to an official report today.
School administrations have been instructed to submit their replies within three days. The authority warned that failure to respond within the stipulated period would result in legal proceedings under the relevant laws.
Officials said schools found operating without registration could face financial penalties ranging from Rs300,000 to Rs4 million, in addition to other legal action permitted under the applicable regulations.
The crackdown is part of the District Education Authority’s broader initiative to bring all educational institutions under the regulatory framework and ensure compliance with provincial education standards.
