Advanced passenger surveillance system implemented in Islamabad. Order to enter travel records in police Travel Eye software

An important meeting was held on Tuesday morning, chaired by DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya, in which it was stated that authorities are moving towards expanding the passenger surveillance system, for which terminal managers have been given new instructions to enter the movement of all passengers in a central police database.

This measure was the central focus of the meeting. In the meeting, terminal administrators deliberated on the implementation of the new security protocols.

Under the proposed measures, the arrival and departure details of every passenger will be mandatorily entered into the Islamabad Police’s “Travel Eye” software, which will compile a comprehensive record of individuals passing through the terminals.

It was also emphasized in the meeting that terminal staff should immediately inform law enforcement agencies about the movement of any suspicious passenger.

Furthermore, the authorities also reviewed the progress on the various stages of implementation of the geo-tagging system, which will add another technological layer to this surveillance framework.
