Islamabad, September 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):The dismissal of Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Satish Verma, who was part of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that probed the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case in 2004, and the acquittal of 11 rape and murder convicts in 2002 Balqees Bano case by Indian Supreme Court are ample proof of the sorry state of Muslims in present-day India.
This was stated by a group of Indian Muslims diaspora based in the west in a letter to the international human rights organizations. The letter pointed out that RSS-driven ideology is a threat to Muslims in India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir adding that agonies of Muslims have multiplied in India under Modi.
“Muslims are being continuously targeted by Hindutva activists as anti-Muslims sentiments have heightened in India under Modi. Persecution of Muslims has sharply increased since BJP took power in India, the letter read.
“Indian judiciary is giving priority to Hindutva ideology while announcing verdicts in cases relating to religious matters. Even religious places of Muslims are under attack in India and occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” the group said and gave reference to media reports that BJP regime had taken control of IIOJK Waqf Board to use its land and assets to finance and implement its evil agenda.
The Muslim diaspora expressed concern over Hindutva leaders overtly calling for mass killings and use of weapons against Muslims and it urged the world to take practical steps to protect rights of Muslims in India and IIOJK.
