Aijaz Rehmani condemns harassment, arrest of youth in IIOJK

Islamabad, September 02, 2020 (PPI-OT): The Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Syed Aijaz Rehmani, has denounced the harassment and fresh wave of arbitrary arrest of youth by Indian troops during cordon and search operations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Syed Aijaz Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad condemned the arrest of youth in Badgam and Baramulla areas and NIA raids in Srinagar. He said that such harsh measures were in clear violation of the worldwide accepted democratic norms and principles.

He maintained that the sentiments of the Kashmiri people especially youth can never be suppressed by the dint of force. He said Kashmir is a disputed territory and the UN resolutions are the only mechanism to resolve it by ascertaining the will of the Kashmiri people.

Aijaz Rehmani urged the UN and international human rights bodies to take urgent notice of the grave human rights situation in IIOJK where the Indian forces were holding the helpless people caged and hostage to the heinous colonial Indian mind-set and expansionist agenda.
