All possible steps will be taken to promote bilateral trade: Afghan envoy

QUETTA: Commercial Attaché of Afghan Consulate, Quetta, Dr. Abdul Hanan Hemat, has said that all possible steps would be taken to promote bilateral trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

These views were expressed by him while addressing a meeting held here on Thursday with the office bearers and members of Aiwan-e-Sanat-O-Tijarat, Quetta Balochistan regarding promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Hemat said that Afghanistan had always desired to establish strong trade relationship with the neighbouring country Pakistan, adding, “We are ready to take any possible action to get the obstacles in the way of promoting trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan removed.”

He extended invitation to the souls affiliated with business and trade in Balochistan to pay a visit to Afghanistan, so that negotiations could be held with the high-ups of Afghan Government for promotion of trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan. He said that the issue of “Rahdari Passes” had already been brought into the notice of Afghan government, adding, “Action in this regard was being taken.

Terming business community as the backbone of country’s economy, he said Afghan government had prioritized providing maximum facilities to the business community. He said promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan would help pave way for economic prosperity in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Welcoming Commercial Attaché of Afghan Consulate, Quetta, Dr Abdul Hanan Hemat and Protocol Officer, Ahmed Raza to Aiwan-e-Sanat-o-Tijarat, Balochistan, President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Quetta Balochistan, Haji Abdullah Achakzai said that office bearers and members of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Quetta, Balochistan had always strived to promote trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Emphasizing the need for setting up “Business Gate” along Pak-Afghan border, Achakzai said that the opening of “Business Gate” and “Rahdari Gate” between the two brotherly countries would further strengthen trade between the two countries. On the occasion, Agha Gul Khilji, Senior Vice President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Quetta Balochistan, Syed Abdul Ahad Agha and others were also present.
