A local court has acquitted all three nominated accused in the five-year-old murder case of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Bilawal Wassan, the nephew of a prominent politician, who was burnt to death.
The verdict was announced today by Khairpur’s Second Additional Sessions Judge Syed Ehsan Haider Shah at the conclusion of a lengthy legal proceeding. The decision came after consideration of the final arguments presented by the lawyers of both parties.
Consequently, Sarfraz alias Faraz Rajput, Zahid Hussain Rajput, and Syed Saqlain Shah were honorably acquitted from all charges. The court cited the prosecution’s failure to prove the charges against the accused as the reason for the acquittal.
The case revolved around the death of ASI Bilawal Wassan, a relative of former Member of National Assembly (MNA) Nawab Wassan.
The police officer’s killing occurred five years ago in a mysterious murder incident within the limits of the Shah Abdul Latif police station, where he was burnt to death.
