Two police officials have been suspended following public outcry after a video of alleged violence against women during a raid in Jamun Shoro village went viral.
The incident occurred after footage of an altercation with a woman named Fatima Shoro spread widely on social media platforms on Monday, prompting the Senior Superintendent of Police of Badin to take immediate notice.
The SSP personally met with the complainants and the accused officials separately to record their statements for an initial inquiry.
The SSP stated that the matter originated from a domestic dispute within the Shoro community, for which a case has already been registered. He affirmed that while arresting suspects is permissible under the law, the “inappropriate and unprofessional” conduct of some officials during the operation was unacceptable.
Consequently, Razak Dino Shoro and ASI Niaz Nohani, who were present during the operation, have been suspended and ordered to report to the police lines. The SSP confirmed that further legal and departmental action will be taken against them after the detailed inquiry report is finalized.
