The Satellite Town Police have registered a case on the complaint of the brother of a woman, Ambreen, who allegedly committed suicide after being subjected to domestic violence, against her husband and mother-in-law.
According to police, the case was registered on the application of the deceased woman’s brother, in which the husband and mother-in-law have been named as accused.
The family stated that Ambreen’s husband used to subject her to physical violence on a daily basis, while the mother-in-law was also allegedly involved in the abuse.
According to the relatives, a day before the incident, Ambreen was allegedly subjected to violence, after which the family was contacted and asked to take her back to Mirpurkhas.
The family said that when they brought her back, she was in a severely injured condition due to the violence.
The relatives further stated that Ambreen could not bear the abuse and she died.
The family has appealed to the Government of Sindh, IG Sindh, DIG, and SSP Mirpurkhas to take notice of the incident, arrest the nominated accused, and ensure justice.
