UMERKOT: A youth allegedly committed suicide in village Murad Pali near Umerkot on Saturday.
According to rescue sources, Shankar Kolhi, aged 25, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from an electric pole in village Murad Pali near Umerkot. The real cause behind the suicide could not be ascertained yet; however, relatives said that the victim was mentally disturbed.
The police rushed to the scene on information, but the heirs did not allow them to shift the body for an autopsy. The incident has created a mourning atmosphere in the village as there was hue and cry after the incident. The suicide rate in Umertkot area of Sindh is rising with each passing day as unemployment and price hike have played havoc in the desert region.
