The anti-polio campaign is underway in Qambar Shahdadkot district,
On the second day of the campaign on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Imdad Ali Abro, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Gulzar Ahmed Tunio, and Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital Dr. Salim Akhtar Tunio also administered polio drops to young children.
Health department teams are actively present at key locations, including government hospitals and major intersections in Nasirabad and Wagan, to ensure maximum access for the vaccination of children under five years of age.
In a statement, DHO Dr. Gulzar Ahmed Tunio confirmed that this comprehensive effort is being undertaken on the special instructions of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho. He stated that the vaccination teams will cover all seven talukas of the district, including small and large towns, villages, mountainous areas, and areas around Hamal Lake.
Dr. Tunio appealed to the public, parents, and community members across the district to fully cooperate with the vaccination teams. “We have to fight this war against it together,” he stressed, reiterating the government’s commitment to “make the entire district polio-free.”
