APHC-AJK denounces Indian attack on Pakistan

Islamabad, February 28, 2019 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a hurriedly-called meeting with its Convener, Syed Abdullah Gilani in chair in Islamabad, today. The participants of the meeting denounced the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for attacking Pakistan to mould public opinion in his favour in upcoming general elections and to divert the international attention from the Indian brutalities in occupied Kashmir.

The Hurriyat leaders expressed concern over the invitation extended to the Indian External Affairs Minister, Shushma Swaraj, by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to attend its session and described it rubbing salt on Kashmiris’ wounds. They also urged the key members of the OIC to play active role in this regard.

They deplored that India had deployed hundred more additional paramilitary companies on emergency basis to occupied Kashmir which had further worsened the prevailing situation. They said some days back illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmad Shah was attacked in Tihar jail, New Delhi, while Hurriyat leaders including Masarat Alam Butt and Aasiya Andrabi, languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory, were being threatened murder attempts.

The Hurriyat leaders also condemned India for violations on the Line of Control (LoC) and denounced the NIA raids on the residences of resistance leaders, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Masara Alam Butt, Naseem Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Zafer Akber Butt and Yasmeen Raja and described it frustration of the authorities.

They said that India was also trying to repeal Article 35A of the Indian Constitution, which gives special status to the permanent resident of Kashmir, through its judiciary to change the demography of the occupied territory but Kashmiris would resist it, tooth and nail.

Haji Sultan Butt, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Ishtiaq Hameed, Abdul Majeed Mir, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Raja Khadim Hussain, Abdul Majeed Malik, Advocate Parvaiz Ahmed, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Nazir Karnai, Abdul Hameed Lone, Imtiaz Wani and Sheikh Abdul Mateen participated in the meeting.
