APHC leaders remember Gaw Kadal martyrs on their anniversary

Srinagar, January 21, 2023 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have paid glowing tributes to the victims of Gaw Kadal massacre on their 33rd martyrdom anniversary have reaffirmed the Kashmiris’ resolve to carry on the mission of their martyrs till it reaches its logical conclusion. More than 50 innocent people were martyred and hundreds others injured in Gaw Kadal area of Srinagar on this day in 1990when Indian troops had opened indiscriminate fire on peaceful demonstrators who were protesting against the molestation of scores of women by the troops.

APHC leaders and organizations including Farida Bahenji, Ghulam Nabi War, Khadim Hussain, Sibte Shabbir Qummi, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Hurriyat Forum in their separate statements issued in Srinagar, eulogized the sacrifice of the Gaw Kadal massacre victims. They said the Gaw Kadal massacre is one of the most horrific incidents of mass killings in the history of Kashmir that will continue to bruise the hearts and minds of the Kashmiri people.

They said Indian troops had committed scores of massacres in the occupied territory but not a single soldier involved in these gory incidents has been punished so far. They said that despite the passage of over three decades the victims of the Gaw Kadal carnage were still wandering from pillar to post in search of justice. The APHC leaders and organizations said that India was killing innocent Kashmiris to suppress their just struggle for securing their UN-mandated right to self-determination but would never succeed in its nefarious designs. They said the Kashmiris will not allow their martyrs’ sacrifices to go waste and will continue their struggle till they achieve freedom from the Indian yoke.

The APHC leaders and organizations deplored that the criminal silence maintained by international community on the Indian state terrorism in IIOJK has emboldened New Delhi to continue with its brutalities on innocent Kashmiris. They demanded an impartial international probe into all incidents of mass killings in the occupied territory to punish the Indian troops involved in these crimes.
