Assam CM provokes RRS extremists against Muslims in state

Guwahati, September 20, 2021 (PPI-OT):Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has instigated Hindu extremists associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to ‘protect’ north-eastern Indian state from becoming a Muslim dominated territory like Jammu and Kashmir.

While issuing a pseudo warning that Assam may become ‘another Jammu and Kashmir’, in reference to its Muslim domination, he urged the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh to protect Hindus from “aggression” by people from a particular [Muslim] community.

“Let us tell you all that Hemanta Biswa Sarma visited the RSS headquarters in Silchar, Assam, yesterday. In the meantime, he addressed a closed-door meeting at the headquarters and said, “Assam is going to be another Kashmir”.

At the same time, he said, “Sessions is in great danger because of the aggression of the people. At the same time, Hindus living in the state’s tea belts and far-flung border areas are also on the verge of extinction due to the large-scale invasion.”

Assam CM said, “RSS can do this because it has a grassroots organisation and has a strong relationship with the common people in remote areas. He also focused on CAA and NRC and said, “It is true that “some people” in the state are staunch opponents of two issues, however, things have started changing.

He also spoke to RSS workers and told them, “Members of intellectuals who met recently conveyed to me that Bengali Hindus are never a threat to the Assamese community [while Muslims are]. The people of Assam now understand the reality.”
