Auqaf Department reclaims valuable land from illegal occupants in Karachi

The Auqaf Department, in a decisive operation in Karachi, has successfully reclaimed an extremely valuable plot worth one billion rupees from the possession of the land mafia.

The reclaimed property has been identified as Bungalow No. 24/1 of Shivani Colony, located on Jigar Muradabadi Road in Gurumandir, which is the property of the Waqf Sulaiman Ismail Trust. According to officials, this site had been under illegal occupation for a long time.

This operation was a joint effort of officers from the Auqaf Department, the district administration, the Anti-Encroachment Department, and the local police. This joint action was carried out in compliance with a directive issued by the Sindh High Court on September 24, 2025.

In a statement following the successful campaign, Secretary Auqaf, Muhammad Mureed Rahmoon, described the plot as a three-sided corner plot located in a prime area and announced that the department has taken possession of the site.

Rahmoon revealed that the Auqaf Department intends to use the reclaimed land to establish its offices.
