Authorities! For God’s sake, fix Karachi’s roads, legendary film star Mustafa Qureshi

Pakistan’s legendary film star Mustafa Qureshi on Wednesday appealed to the Karachi administration to fix the deteriorating condition of the city’s roads. The dilapidated infrastructure has led to numerous accidents, including a recent incident involving Qureshi himself, when he fell into a pothole on a broken road during a morning walk outside his home and fractured his foot.

Speaking to journalists at his home, Qureshi expressed gratitude for the support he received following his injury. Pakistan Film TV Journalists Association Chairman Athar Javed Sufi and President Wasim Qureshi were among those who visited to inquire about his well-being. Senior journalists Shams Kario and Shah Fasihuddin also joined to express their solidarity.

Qureshi mentioned the immense love he received from across the country, with industry colleagues like Zeba Begum, Anjuman, and Ghulam Mohiuddin contacting him from Lahore. Actor Mehmood Sultan expressed his support from London, while film star Nadeem personally called to wish Qureshi a speedy recovery.

Highlighting the severity of the issue, Qureshi stated that even motorists are not safe from the condition of the city’s roads. He pointed out that a large population of Karachi relies on walking, making the need for road repairs even more crucial for public safety. He appealed to the government to take immediate action, saying that such repairs would greatly benefit the city’s residents.
