Authorities Slaps Ban on Public Gatherings Across Balochistan

The provincial authorities have enforced Section 144 throughout Balochistan, effectively outlawing all public assemblies, demonstrations, and road blockades, with violators facing immediate arrest, said Shahid Rind, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Balochistan on Sunday.

In a statement, Mr Rind clarified that the measure aligns with directives from the Balochistan High Court, which prohibit the granting of permission for any road closures.

He said that law enforcement agencies had been issued explicit instructions to take decisive action against any individuals or groups obstructing thoroughfares under the guise of protest.

The special assistant issued a stern warning, stating, “Those who violate Section 144 will be arrested,” and reiterated that the law would be applied equally to all citizens without exception.
