AWP holds demo outside SHC seeks release of its leader

KARACHI: The workers of Awami Workers Party (AWP) on Tuesday held a protest demonstration outside the Sindh High Court (SHC) against the disappearance of Seengar Noonari, a leader of AWP Sindh. The protest was led by AWP Sindh president Bakshal Thalho, Jeay Sindh Mahaz Chairman Advocate Abdul Khaliq Junejo and Aalya Bakhal. Speaking on the occasion, Bakshal Thalho said that disappearing the political activists is violation of constitution as well as human rights.

He said that Seengar Noonari is a voice of farmers of Sindh and oppressed people who have been exploited by influential. Abdul Khaliq Junejo said that peaceful struggle against exploitation and oppress is right of every citizen. He said that violation of human rights would not be tolerated. The protestors, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans for release of Noonari and other political, social activists of Pakistan.

Noonari was allegedly taken away from his home in Naseerabad in Sindh on 25 June, following which his wife, Fozia Seengar filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) to seek his production. Fozia Seengar claimed in the petition that they were asleep in their house on night between June 25 and 26 when, at around 3am, about 15-20 people, including some wearing security personnel uniforms, forcibly entered into the house by breaking open the main door with weapons and took away her husband.
