Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has officially extended its condolences to Pakistan following a fatal blaze at a commercial building of Gul Plaza in Karachi that resulted in multiple casualties.
In a message published on the social media platform X today, the ministry conveyed its profound sadness over the incident which caused both deaths and injuries.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire at a shopping mall in Karachi, which resulted in the death and injury of innocent people. We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the brotherly people and government of Pakistan,” the official post stated.
The devastating incident occurred at the Gul Plaza shopping centre on the night of Saturday, 17 January 2026.
According to reports, the fire claimed several lives and left numerous other individuals wounded. The fire was put off after hectic efforts for 33 hours.
