Spokesman for provincial government, Shahid Rind, on Wednesday said that an agreement had been concluded between Government of Balochistan and Grand Health Alliance Balochistan (GHAB), withdrawing all show-cause notices and FIRs issued during the strike so as to ensure the restoration of healthcare services.
In a statement, he said that office bearers of Pakistan Medical Association played a mediatory role to ensure the restoration of healthcare services and end strike. Rind said that all orders of the High Court of Balochistan, including evacuations of illegal occupancies and against absent doctors, would be implemented in true letter and spirit, adding all demands previously agreed with GHAB would be implemented.
The text of the agreement outlines several key points, including the implementation of court orders, continuation of the healthcare reform agenda, acceptance of demands, withdrawal of show-cause notices and FIRs, a commitment against future strikes, and the resumption of healthcare services.
The agreement specifies that show-cause notices related to illegal activities, such as taking double salaries, will remain in effect as per the High Court’s directives. Moreover, the alliance has committed to refraining from future strikes, with any breach resulting in the revocation of agreements and potential government actions.
The agreement concludes with an expression of consent from both parties, aiming to end the ongoing strike and ensure the smooth delivery of healthcare services to the people of Balochistan.
