Balochistan has attached priority to education, says CM Kamal

QUETTA:Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan, has said that the incumbent provincial government had attached priority to education sector by setting up colleges and schools in each and every tehsils of the province.

According to a statement issued from the Chief Minister office here on Monday, he said that if the needful had been done in past, a better human resource could have been available today. These views were expressed by him while presiding over a meeting held here on Monday regarding preparation of concept papers for development schemes pertaining to Higher Education Department and Secondary Education Department for the fiscal year 2021-22. Khan urged concerned authorities to review feasibility reports with regard to projects for establishing Balochistan Residential Colleges, Cadet Colleges and Polytechnic Colleges at proper places.

The meeting was informed that out of 137 concept papers, 108 concept papers had already been reviewed besides proposing new schemes for establishing digital libraries, provision of buses for colleges and development schemes for shelter-less colleges of the province.

It was further informed that construction of residential colleges, Balochistan Residential Colleges, Cadet Colleges in different districts of the province had been made the part of development schemes to be reflected in the PSDP for the fiscal year 2021-22. Meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Balochistan, Mather Niaz Rana, Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning and Development Department, Hafiz Abdul Basit, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Balochistan, Zahid Saleem, Secretary, Secondary Education Department, Secretary, Colleges, Higher and Technical Education Department and other concerned authorities.
