Balochistan issues guidelines to stay safe from Covid

QUETTA:Balochistan regime has issued guidelines of National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) for compliance during Eid prayers.

In a letter issued on Tuesday to Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Secretary Religious Affairs, all Divisional Commissioners, all Deputy Commissioners and in-charge BCOC, Home and Tribal Affairs Department enumerated the following guidelines for safe management of Eid ul Fitr prayers.

Eid prayers should be organized in open spaces under stringent Covid protocols. In case of any compulsion to offer prayers inside mosque, all windows and doors should be kept open for ventilation so as to minimize the chances of disease spread.

Preferably 2-3 Eid prayers should be organized at one single venue with staggered timings to afford opportunity for maximum people to offer prayers with COVID protocols.

All ulema leading Eid prayers should be sensitized to keep sermons and Khutbaas short so that people remain present in prayer venue for brief duration of time.

Efforts should be made to discourage sick, elderly and young children below 15 years of age for attending Eid prayers amid current disease situation.

Under no circumstances, people should be allowed to enter the prayer venue without face mask. All prayer venues should have multiple entry and exit points to prevent disease transmission. Each individual entering the prayer venue should undergo thermal screening at the entry points.

Symptomatic individual should not be allowed to enter venue. Venue organizers should ensure availability of sufficient quantity of hand sanitizers / face masks at entry points. It should be mandatory for all coming for prayers to use sanitizers and wear face masks before entering the venue.

To ensure social distancing protocols, venue organizers to ensure prominent marking (6 feet apart) to allow sufficient space and distance between individuals. People should be encouraged to perform Wazu at homes and also bring own prayer mats at the venue.

Efforts should be made to sensitize people to refrain from embracing and hand shaking after the prayer to avoid chances of disease transmission. No gathering should be allowed at the prayer venue before and after the prayer. Well laid out parking areas should be prepared for crowd management. Enhanced LEAs deployment be ensured to guard against traditional security threats.
