Balochistan Says 75 Militants Killed in Operations Since July 5

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said on Friday that security forces had killed 75 suspected militants in intelligence-based operations carried out across the province since July 5, as authorities intensified counterterrorism efforts following the Mangi Dam attack in Ziarat.

In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Bugti said “Operation Shaban,” launched in the aftermath of the Mangi Dam assault, remained underway. He added that 39 suspected militants had been killed during joint operations conducted as part of the campaign.

Bugti said the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan and Balochistan Police were continuing coordinated operations against suspected militants in the province’s rugged and mountainous terrain.

He also said security forces had foiled an attack on a police station in the Zehri area of Khuzdar through swift action. Stressing the government’s resolve, Bugti said the state’s authority would be maintained across Balochistan and that militants would not be able to evade justice.
