Pakistan, Malaysia Pledge Stronger Economic and Strategic Ties

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi received the Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi, Herman Hardynata Ahmad, on a farewell call at the Governor House today. During the meeting, the two sides discussed Pakistan-Malaysia bilateral relations, trade, investment, education, tourism, culture, and ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Mr Hashmi said that Pakistan and Malaysia are brotherly Islamic countries whose relations are founded on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. He appreciated the Consul General’s diplomatic services, stating that he had made a significant contribution to strengthening Pakistan-Malaysia relations during his tenure in Karachi.

The governor said that Karachi offers immense opportunities for investment, industry, trade, information technology, and port-related sectors. He added that educational cooperation and student exchange programmes were further strengthening ties between the two countries. Expressing optimism about the future, he said he hoped that economic, commercial, and investment relations between Pakistan and Malaysia would continue to grow in the years ahead.

On the occasion, Hardynata thanked Hashmi and said that his stay in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi, had been a memorable experience. He added that he would always cherish the warmth, hospitality, and affection of the people of Pakistan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Hashmi extended his best wishes to the Consul General for his future endeavours. The two dignitaries also exchanged commemorative shields.
