Balochistan University teams up with Sandeman Hospital to provide practical training

The University of Balochistan has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sandeman Provincial Hospital and Trauma Center. The aim is to provide practical training opportunities to students of the Department of Physical Therapy.

The agreement was signed by the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Buzai, Sandeman Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Abdul Hadi Kakar, and the Managing Director of the Trauma Center Dr. Arbab Kamran Kasi. Other officials from the university were also present at the event.

Under the agreement, students of physical therapy will have opportunities for internships and house jobs in various departments such as Orthopedics, Neurology, Pediatrics, and CCU. A focal person will be appointed to monitor the performance of the students.

Students have been assured of a safe and professional educational environment to ensure no hindrance in their training. Furthermore, participation in global health day celebrations and collaboration in blood donation campaigns will also be included.

Students completing the internship will be issued recommendation letters or internship certificates. According to Professor Dr. Buzai, this partnership will help in enhancing the educational and professional skills of the students.

Dr. Abdul Hadi Kakar highlighted the importance of practical training, while Dr. Arbab Kamran Kasi emphasized the need to align educational training with the practical operations of the hospital. This partnership is part of efforts to improve the quality of health education in Balochistan.
