Baluchistan blessed with mineral resources: CM Jam

QUETTA: Jam Kamal Khan, Chief Minister, Balochistan has said that Balochistan has been blessed with mineral wealth and resources.

These views were expressed by him while addressing “Baluchistan Business Opportunity Conference held at a local hotel here on Tuesday under the aegis of Baluchistan Board of Investment and Trade and Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Khan said that the significance of Baluchistan’s resources was accepted by the world community, adding that vast opportunities of investment existed in minerals, energy, livestock, agriculture, fisheries and tourism sectors of the province. He added that government would provide all kinds of facilities and protection to those investors who invested in the province.

He remarked that the role of business community for improving economy was pivotal, adding that economic activities in the province could not flourish in past owing to non-existence of planning for economic zone of the province, however, the present government had chalked out a comprehensive planning for special economic zones.

He said that Baluchistan was replete with natural resources particularly with the reservoirs of salt, fish, minerals and livestock. He remarked that it had been planned to set up 9 border markets in the border areas of the province, adding that approval for setting up three border markets in bordering areas of the province had already been accorded.

He said that measures were being adopted to provide infrastructure and other facilities to the border markets. He added that project was being planned to construct a road connecting Karachi with Iran. On the occasion, provincial Minister Mitha Khan Kakar, Coordinator to Chief Minister, Bilal Khan, provincial Secretaries, Chief Executive Officer, Baluchistan Board of Investment, Saeed Ahmed Sirpara, President, Rawalpindi Chamber and Commerce, Nasir Mirzai, group leader of chamber, Suhail Altaf, office bearers of Baluchistan Chamber of Commerce and others were also present. MEETING: A meeting regarding fencing issues / settlement of divided villages along with Pak-Afghan border, Chaman under the chairmanship of Mir Ziaullah Langove, Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs has been convened on 14th July, 2021 at 02:00 noon at Chaman.21.
