QUETTA:Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), an important government ally, has suggested two names to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the post of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman.
In a letter to the premier, BAP Parliamentary Leader Khalid Magsi has suggested the names of former Balochistan High Court (BHC) judge Ahmed Khan Lashari and former Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Ghulam Azam Qambrani.
Magsi writes that the BAP played an important role in ensuring success of the vote of no-confidence against former prime minister Imran Khan. “And despite the fact that the present government is confronting several challenges, my party is still standing by it firm like a rock,” BAP leader said.
He added that the names of two former judges he suggested had a vast experience of legal practice and they had also served in superior judiciary as well. “They not only enjoy a good reputation in the legal fraternity, but also in the people belonging to other professions and walks of life,” he has said.
BAP believes, he says in the letter, that the two persons come on merit for this key post because of their ability to deliver. I hope that you, Mr Prime Minister, will consider their names for the post of NAB chairman.
