The body of an 11-year-old boy, who drowned in Mirpurkhas’s Jamrao Canal on December 5, was recovered from the Jamrao Canal on Wednesday, after which a special investigation team has been formed to probe the case.
Authorities retrieved the body of Anas Qureshi from the waterway near Sani Mori village. The body was found near a spot attributed to Haji Ghulam Qadir Mari Baloch, within the jurisdiction of the Taluka police station, where the initial incident had occurred.
Taluka Police’s Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Kumar supervised the recovery process at the scene. The deceased’s body has been moved to Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas for a formal post-mortem examination.
The SHO confirmed that an autopsy will be performed. Concurrently, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has established an inquiry team, headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), to thoroughly investigate the circumstances of the boy’s death.
