A severe liquidity crisis, stemming from significant budget shortfalls, is threatening to unravel the progress achieved by the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (CAR), a senior Pakistani diplomat has cautioned the UN Security Council.
Addressing the council, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Pakistan”s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, highlighted that financial deficits are directly responsible for the critical situation facing the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission (MINUSCA), according to a report by MOIB today.
The ambassador noted Pakistan’s significant contribution to the peacekeeping effort, confirming that the country provides more than twelve hundred uniformed personnel to support the mission’s objectives on the ground.
Reaffirming his nation’s dedication, Mr Jadoon stated that Pakistan will persist in its collaboration with international partners to foster enduring peace and stability in the region.
