Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) on Monday condemned maltreatment with a female reporter of ARY during coverage of protesting teachers of Government Girls High School Subzal Road, Quetta and called on the authorities to take action against District Education Officer Quetta, Naseer-ur-Din Shah.
In a statement, BUJ said that team of ARY reached Government Girls High School Quetta to give coverage to the protest of teachers against Principal, Government Girls High School, Quetta, but team of ARY was not only stopped from coverage of the protest but District Education Officer Quetta, Naseer-ur-Din Shah also misbehaved with the female reporter of ARY.
It said that constitution of the country grants right to every citizen to protest and right to media has also been given to convey the voice of the protesters to people and higher authorities. BUJ called on Minister for Education, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Secretary, Secondary Education Department and other concerned authorities to take action against District Education Officer Quetta, Naseer-ur-Din Shah.
