Karachi, March 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) in a meeting with the leading industrialists and businessmen, strongly criticized FBR empowering commissioner IR to raid and confiscate electronic data, software and computers under income tax ordinance 2001, section 177 and 178.
The business leaders, President FPCCI Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, SVP FPCCI, S.M. Muneer, Khalid Tawab, Zubair Tufail, and President KATI Danish Khan present, endorsed the resolution of the business community requesting government to amend said FBR power causing undue harassment in the business community, the leaders said, it is against government’s businessmen friendly policies. The house was unanimous on this issue and urged apex body FPCCI to take up this matter with FBR on priority.
