KARACHI:The Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday summoned Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif for violating the code of conduct in the by-elections on July 07.
According to a report, the EC has issued notice to CM Hamza for announcing the 100 unit subsidy relief package for electricity consumers under the “Roshan Gharana Program”.
The ECP sought a reply from the Punjab Chief Minister on July 7 as no development scheme can be announced in the constituencies of Punjab after the announcement of the election schedule.
The announcement regarding the relief package of free electricity units was made by the Punjab Chief Minister yesterday (on Monday, July 4).
