Call to resolve teachers’ problems

QUETTA: Government Teachers Association (Aaeeni), Balochistan has demanded of the authorities to address the problems being faced by the teachers of Balochistan province. These demands were made in the protest demonstration held outside Quetta Press Club here on Friday under the aegis of Government Teachers Association (Aaeeni).

Addressing the protest demonstration, speakers said that teachers had been observing symbolic hunger strike in a hunger strike camp set up by GTAA for the last five days to get their legitimate demands addressed, but no government authority had bothered visited the protest camp of GTAA to ascertain as to why teachers were compelled to set up symbolic hunger strike camp.

They said that the positions of teachers of different cadres had been upgraded in all the sister provinces, but it was not known as to why the authorities of Secondary Education Department, Balochistan were reluctant to get the posts of teachers upgraded on the analogy of other sister provinces of the country.

They said that instead of turning a deaf ear to the genuine demands of teachers, authorities of the provincial government ought to have shown seriousness to get the legitimate demands of GTAA entertained. They demanded of the authorities to address the problems being faced by the teachers of Balochistan province. Protest demonstration was addressed by Mujeebullah Gharsheen, Chairman, Government Teachers Association (Aaeeni), Balochistan and others.
