Capital’s Police Chief Declares Quality Investigation Essential for Rule of Law

Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police (IGP), Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, today underscored that establishing the rule of law is impossible without high-quality criminal investigations, following a high-level meeting convened to scrutinise the progress of serious criminal cases and the efficacy of the city”s investigative system.

The important session, focused on investigative affairs, was attended by senior police officials, including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Jawad Tariq and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Investigation, Muhammad Usman Tariq Butt, alongside members of the force”s legal team.

During the proceedings, the IGP conducted a thorough examination of cases currently under investigation and sought updates on legal matters being heard in higher courts. He held detailed consultations with the legal team on various judicial points.

IGP Rizvi emphasised the necessity of timely completion of legal proceedings for cases under trial and mandated strict compliance with all court orders.

Directives were also issued to enhance security measures throughout the city, with a clear instruction to prioritise public safety. The police chief called for an acceleration of initiatives aimed at improving public facilitation.

To conclude, the IGP directed that coordination among all police divisions be strengthened to ensure the provision of safe, efficient, and effective services to the public.
