In a bid to reduce accidents and ensure unimpeded vehicular movement, Islamabad’s Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) today directed personnel to take strict legal action against individuals who violate traffic regulations.
The directive was issued by CTO Capt. (retd.) Hamzah Humayun while commending traffic police officers and officials for their diligent performance on duty.
During a formal ceremony, the CTO awarded certificates of appreciation and cash prizes to distinguished personnel. He stated that the dedication and hard work of the officers in maintaining smooth traffic flow for public convenience is “truly commendable.”
Humayun emphasized that special measures are being implemented to make the capital safer and to ensure uninterrupted traffic progression, adding that the enforcement of traffic laws is essential to preventing accidents. He instructed all officers to ensure close coordination with their subordinate staff for effective enforcement.
Alongside stricter enforcement, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) is enhancing its public outreach. Awareness teams are being regularly deployed at various intersections and roads to educate citizens about traffic rules and road safety.
Furthermore, the ITP is leveraging its FM Radio 92.4 station to provide real-time updates on traffic conditions, road safety protocols, and regulatory changes.
These initiatives align with special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at improving traffic management and providing assistance to citizens in the federal capital.
