Police have launched an investigation after registering a case into the incident of a 23-year-old youth’s hanging body found at a residence in Sharifabad on Wednesday, with initial reports suggesting it could be a suicide.
The deceased’s body was found hanging from a fan on the first floor of a house in Sharifabad Block G.
According to a spokesperson for the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) District Central, upon receiving the information, law enforcement personnel immediately secured the crime scene and began collecting evidence.
The victim has been identified as Misbah son of Mehndi. Initial information points towards suicide, however, investigators are considering various angles to determine the exact cause of death.
The body has been moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal procedures.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Sharifabad is present at the scene, and other relevant officers have also been summoned to the location to assist in the ongoing investigation.
