IOK: (Indian troops martyred 515 Kashmiris after martyrdom of Burhan Wani)

ISLAMABAD: In Occupied Kashmir, after the custodial killing of renowned commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani on July 8, 2016, Indian troops have killed 515 people including women and teenage boys to date.

According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, tens of thousands of people came out on the streets to protest against the killing.

The incident began a tumultuous phase in the recent history of Kashmir when forces used excessive force, bullets, pellets and teargas shells to quell the mourners and mass uprising.

About 20,935 civilians including women and boys were injured, 73 were rendered completely blinded and over 1,1864 youth are at the verge of losing eye-sight by the pellets fired by Indian forces since July 8.

Marriym:(11,000 MW electricity added to national grid with Chinese assistance: Marriyum)

Beijing:Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says the present government has added eleven thousand megawatt electricity to the national grid with assistance of China to overcome the energy crisis.

She was talking to Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of Central Committee of Communist Party of China, Jiang Jianguo in Beijing.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said all political parties in Pakistan support CPEC and the government is making all-out efforts to ensure security of all Chinese nationals.

She called for enhancing cultural and media contacts between the two countries by sharing cultural norms and exchanging media delegations.

Welcoming the Minister of State, Jiang Jianguo said the two people and countries share a high level of mutual trust, respect and friendship.

Court: (SC takes suo motu notice against encroachment on public park in F-8 Markaz)

ISLAMABAD:Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Monday took suo motu notice on the alleged encroachment on the public park cum football ground in Sector F-8, of the federal capital and directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit report to the matter within three days.

The notice has been taken on the news in print as well as social media that the public park/football ground is being encroached.

Islamabad:

The 4th Joint exercises of Pakistan Navy Special Services Group (NSSG) and Saudi Navy Special Operations Forces began on Monday.

The purpose of the exercises is to enhance the skills of operation against terrorism and exchange professional capabilities.

According to a spokesman of Pakistan Navy, these exercises will comprise on Harbor Phase and Sea Phase.

The spokesman said that joint exercises Afaal Al-Sahil will also improve the capabilities of both navies’ Special Operation Forces.

The joint exercises will continue till 16th of this month.

Trade: (ICCI for timely establishment of SEZ under CPEC in Islamabad)

ISLAMABAD: Sheikh Amir Waheed, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has called upon the government to take measures for ensuring timely establishment of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) under CPEC in the federal capital that would give boost to industrial activities in the region and contribute to improving country’s exports.

He said this while exchanging views with with Iftikhar Ali Malik, Vice President, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry during a meeting with him along with a delegation. Mohammad Naveed Senior Vice President ICCI, Zubair Ahmed Malik Chairman Founder Group and Malik Sohail Hussain Chief Coordinator FPCCI were also in the delegation.

Sheikh Amir Waheed said that CPEC has now entered into the second phase of the Long-Term Plan (LTP) after the completion of the Early Harvest Program (EHP) and stressed that more focus should be given on industrial cooperation in the second phase to promote industrialization in the country.

He said local industry should get better opportunities in SEZs that would be set up in the second phase. He said the business community has pinned lot of hopes from CPEC and emphasized that the modernization of local industry should be the main component of the LTP in order to transform Pakistan into an industrialized country at par with other developed countries.

Speaking at the occasion, Iftikhar Ali, Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Chairman United Business Group assured that he would convey the demand of ICCI for establishment of SEZ in Islamabad to the relevant authorities.

He said the CPEC was a game changer for Pakistan and the LTP has created lot of positives for Pakistan and it would touch upon all important sectors of the economy including connectivity with road and rail infrastructure, information network, energy, trade, industrial parks, agriculture, poverty alleviation, and tourism with a focus on maritime tourism.

He said apart from industrial cooperation, the LTP would also modernize Pakistan’s agriculture sector as new agro-based technologies, seeds, and irrigation mechanism would be introduced.

He stressed that the enterprises from China and Pakistan should be given enhanced role in the LTP so that joint ventures and partnerships between the private sectors of Pakistan and China could be materialized to create economic benefits for both countries and for the region.

Minister: (Tech-based system to be introduced in power companies: Leghari)

ISLAMABAD:Minister for Power Awais Ahmed Leghari has said that a technology-based system will be introduced to improve the efficiency of power producing and distribution companies.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that untill now the government was focused on power generation and remained successful. He said the focus has now shifted to the distribution companies to improve their performance.

Awais Laghari said the government has exposed over-billing by power distributing companies of four to eight billion rupees in the last two months.

He said the government will start accountability process in distribution companies and non-performing companies would be shown the door.

FO: (Pakistan lodges protest with India over unprovoked firing along LoC)

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan on Monday again summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P Singh Commissioner at Foreign office and lodged strong protest over the recent unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian troops at line of control in Nezapir, Nakyal and Karela sectors. Two innocent civilians martyred and seven injured.

In a statement, the Foreign Office Spokesperson urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement for maintenance of peace and tranquility on the LoC and the Working Boundary.

The spokesperson said the Indian forces are continuously targeting the civilian populated areas with heavy mortars and automatic weapons along the line of control and the working boundary.

He said the Indian forces have so far carried out more than 190 ceasefire violations this year, resulting in the shahadat of thirteen innocent civilians.

This unprecedented escalation in ceasefire violations by India is continuing from the year 2017 when the Indian forces committed 1970 ceasefire violations.

The spokesperson deplored the deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas terming it contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws.

He said ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation.
